6-Star Hotel to Be Constructed at The Star Sydney Australia Site
The Star Entertainment group Ltd. has made an announcement that the current renovation process of its Star Sydney premises is going to include an addition. This addition is going to witness the construction of a brand new 375 million dollar 6-star hotel that is going to feature apartments as well as an updated restaurants’ strip.
The Star Entertainment is also the company behind the Jupiter Casino and Hotel at the Gold Coast as well as the Treasury Hotel and Casino in Brisbane. It has stated that the development of the inner city Suburb of Sydney, the suburb of Pyrmont is planned to be opened from mid to late 2020. This development is going to include 220 luxury hotel rooms that will be managed by the Ritz Carlton Hotel company, as well as 150 residences.
The concept is going to increase the inventory of rooms of The Star Sydney premises to more than one-hundred thousand rooms. It is also going to bring back one of the best hotel brands in the world, The Ritz Carlton. The development concept is also going to witness the addition of twenty food and beverage outlets as well. This announcement was made by the Managing Director of the company, Matt Bekier. He also added that this new property is going be a part of the company’s ongoing refurbishment of the premises of The Star Sydney Australia. This process is going to include the revamp of all of the rooms of the existing Astral Tower and Residences, as well as the opening of the new Harvest Buffet restaurant. It will also include upgrades to the arrivals area of the venues as well as some of the internal areas such as its VIP facilities.
Crown Resorts limited have witnessed a lot of criticism when it announced its proposal for the 750 million dollar development in Barangaroo. This is why it seems that the Star Entertainment has made the choice to involve the community in the design stage before it started looking for approvals, and certainly before beginning the construction. Therefore, the company has stated that it has created a design panel. This panel is going to be tasked with the reviewing of the options that will be provided by the 3 architects that will be named next week. In addition, they are also going to sought public comments so they can be put into consideration before the winning design plan gets unveiled. This panel is going to include Peter Poulet, the government architect from NSW, Greg Hawkins, the Star Sydney Managing Director and plenty of other personnel and architects. This approach, as stated by Bekier, is going to enable the development of an integrated resort that will reflect the character of the city so all of the residents of the city can enjoy it as well as be proud of.
