Aussie Company Aristocrat Leisure Signs Deal with Minnesota Casino Chain

Aristocrat Leisure, the Aussie based gaming software operator, has entered a big deal with a well known chain of US based casinos. The gaming developer has signed at the bottom of the contract on the dotted line with the US casino chain in Minnesota, the  Shooting Star Casino Hotel and Entertainment. The deal will witness Aristocrat Leisure installing its new management system, the Oasis 360

This new gaming platform by Aristocrat is going to go live at different properties of Star Casino in the US. This is going to include the Star Lake Casino which is expected to be opened in 2017. It is also going to include the Shooting Star, which is located in Minnesota.

This contract represents the biggest indicator of intent of the Aussie manufacturer that shows that it wants to expand its presence in the USA. A deal to take over one of the big Major United States software firms 2 years ago paved the way for Aristocrat Leisure to move deeper into the tribal casinos around the United States.

The Oasis 360 is a system provided by Aristocrat, it is an award winning management system for casinos, which is already being used in many casinos across the USA. This system gives the casino operators the chance to integrate many aspects on one platform. This includes promotions, operations, marketing and accounting.

The Aussie company has been trying to lead the charge into the US market for 3 years.  It has started that charge by taking over Video Gaming Technology, which was a US firm. This move paved its way into the US market, especially into the tribal casinos.

The deal cost almost 1.38 billion dollars, which increased the foothold of the Aussie company in the US market. This deal increased the share of the company from only 8,200 machines, and was predicted to grow the footprint of the company by 20k machines.

This deal was only one of the many high profile deals in the industry. For example, in 2013, Bally Technologies took over Shufflemaster in a 1.3 million deal. Also, WMS was taken over by SG Interactive (Scientific Games).

This new deal serves as a welcomed distraction by Aristocrat, as back home in Australia, the company is being taken to court by an Aussie player. Shonica Guy took the company to court, as well as Crown Casino, because of one of its games Dolphin Treasure. According to the allegations of Ms. Shonica Guy, she has been playing the game for fourteen years, and she started to get hooked to the game because of the deceptive programming and the uneven spread of symbols.
