Whether called gambling or gaming, roulette offers players a 1:37 or 1:38 odds of winning. Odds are always in favor of the house or casino and there is no betting system that can improve the odds of winning. Many people think a betting system will allow them an advantage, but the systems’ only advantage could be that it helps you to control the amount you lose.
Roulette is a game that carries greater odds that a player will lose. Casinos would not stay in business if the odds were not in their favor and in roulette the odds are greater in their favor than many other games that are offered. Two very popular betting systems used when playing roulette are the Labouchère system and D'Alembert system which are guides designed to adjust betting so players may walk away from the table with some money at the end of their gaming.
Roulette Betting Using a System
Although the D'Alembert system was created by one of the brightest minds of the 18th century, Jean Rond D’Alemert, it does not guarantee that you will beat the house, break even or walk away with any money left in your hands. Based on the law of equilibrium means that the chances are greater to have a win after suffering a loss and also greater of losing after winning.
But the fact is that the odds of winning is always the same 1 out of 37 in the single zero version and 1 in 38 in the double zero version of roulette. The system is very easy to use and understand and is based on the probability that there are equal chances for a player to win as it is for them to lose. You only need to decide on your initial betting amount to get started. The system dictates how much to increase the betting amounts for wins or losses. The greatest advantage to this and any other betting system is that it gives you a guideline of behavior to govern your gaming. Your own judgment should still be used about whether you increase or decrease your betting amount.
In the Labouchère system, the player decides on an amount to they would like to win and write down a group of numbers that add up to that amount. On the first bet, the player adds the first and last number of the sequence, such as 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 which adds up to 15. If the player wins the bet, the winning numbers, 1 + 5 = 6, are crossed out and then the next two numbers 2 + 4 = 6 are used as the bet amount. If the player loses the first bet, the bet amount is added to the list of numbers which becomes 1-6 and used to place the second bet 1 + 6 = 7. The player uses this system until all the numbers are crossed out or all of their money is gone.
For this system to work a player needs to win a third of all bets before the list of numbers are completed. Since this system is based on a dichotomous betting situation, such as red or black and odd or even, the player will be making outside bets. Loosing several times in a row occurs quite often in roulette and this system tells players to bet greater amounts after each loss in hopes of a larger win. If the player has the bankroll to follow this strategy, there is still the house limit that will prevent a player from continuing in this vain. Again, a betting system is a guideline that will help you keep a clear head while in a gaming situation. Common sense should still be your guide.
Although roulette betting system are often advertised as a sure way to win when gaming, the truth of the matter is that the odds of winning does not change because of a betting system being used by players. Gaming is fun and entertaining, and responsible gaming is always a wise decision.
Don’t expect to beat the house and never bet more on gaming than you can afford to lose. Whether you are using a system or not, enjoy the game. If you think you have found a reliable system that will guarantee a winning time at the roulette table, test it out for free but, each spin at the roulette table gives you the same odds of winning and losing.
